Let's Talk Activism

About the Event
Come join us on Friday, November 22nd for a discussion of multi-level activism; street-level to government-level; and to hear about different ways your voice can be heard.
Whether you have a cause you're passionate about and are looking for ways to get involved or you're exploring different ways of activism, this is a great event to find out what's going on in Edinburgh and what you can do.
We are joined by a variety of different activists;
Mete Coban, the Chief Executive of My Life My Say, a youth-led, national, non-partisan movement on a mission to secure a better Brexit for young people by creating safe spaces for debate on and offline, as well as conducting research and advocacy work with decision makers. MLMS is best known for championing the voice of 4.5 million young Brits in Brexit negotiations through their work leading the All-Party Parliamentary Group in Westminster on a Better Brexit for Young People. Mete is also a Labour Councillor for Stoke Newington.
Johnney Rhodes, the Youth Officer for Edinburgh Labour and Regional Director at ‘Labour for a Public Vote’. An alumni of the University of Edinburgh, Johnney is also an Executive Committee Member of the Scottish Fabians. He has years of experience campaigning within a party political context.
Abby Lang, whose social action focuses on volunteering and campaigning for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and has worked to secure the backing of 58 MPs in Scotland for CRY's campaign to establish a national strategy to prevent Young Sudden Cardiac Death.
Ryan Bittinger, an activist and regional organiser for Animal Rebellion, a UK-wide campaign to end the climate crisis and achieve justice for animals. They also host a radio show on FreshAir focussed on activism.
Hope to see you there!
