About the Event

The issue of reproductive rights and induced abortion remains divisive in public life with recurring arguments to liberalise or restrict access to such institutions. With the abortion bans in the United States to the blatant lack of women's rights in the current political climate, gender equality is a necessary continuous dialogue.

We are honoured to be joined by the following speakers:

Emma Walker, a spokeperson for 50:50 Parliament, which works for better gender balance at Westminster.

Jane Carnall, convener of Abortion Rights Edinburgh.

Poppy Gerrard-Abbott, feminist activist/campaigner and a PhD student on sexual violence on campus in the Sociology department at The University of Edinburgh.

Kaveri Qureshi, lecturer in Global Health Equity with main focus on reproductive rights and reproductive justice.

The event will take place in Appleton Tower Lecture Theatre 3. Hope to see you there!
