Jack Liddall


Jack is a fourth year History and Politics student whose main academic interests lie in territorial and constitutional politics, particularly of Scotland and the UK. He is from Trinity in the north of Edinburgh and loves his weekly swims in the Firth of Forth! Formerly our Secretary, Jack takes on this leading role as we continue to diversify our social and academic programme. As the Secretary of The Broad Online and the History Society as well, Jack is keen for lots of collaborative events this year!




Astoria DeTuncq

Vice President

Astoria is a third year Philosophy student from the USA. She has an interest in statistical election analyses and a penchant for bad coffee. As Vice President of EPU, she hopes to work with the Committee to develop an EPU-dedicated think tank and ensure that EPU remains a safe, intellectually-rigorous, and inclusive space for all!



Veronica Greer

Editor-in-Chief of Leviathan

Veronica is going into her fourth year of a Linguistics and Social Anthropology degree. She's from Washington State in the US, and plans to go to law school back in the states after she graduates. As Editor-in-Chief, Veronica will be overseeing the production of yet another successful issue of Leviathan.


Ailie Ross-Oliver


Ailie is a fourth year Politics student, interested in international migration policy, European politics and global health. She is from Dunblane and loves Kilimanjaro’s peach blossom tea! Ailie is in charge of the Society's administration and is a friendly point of contact for our members.

Sofia Farouk

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Leviathan

Sofia studies Sociology and Politics and is in Year 4. From Malaysia, she is interested in Digital Transparency and Political Corruption. Her favourite place in Edinburgh is Calton Hill, hands down!


Harry is a fourth year History and Politics student and is continuing as the Treasurer for EPU this year. He is responsible for handling finances and organisational tasks. Harry is from London. He loves modern history and Middle Eastern politics and being a whisky-lover, he recommends The Devil’s Advocate!


Ed Roest

Social Secretary

Ed is in his second year and studying Politics, Philosophy & Economics. He is particularly fascinated by foreign policy and military affairs in general. He grew up in Kenya but now lives in Hampshire. Travelling the world has always been a passion of his. In Edinburgh, Ed frequents Chez Jules too often and loves a pint at his local bar The Outhouse! He will be organising all of our social events this year.



Connall Maclennan

Director of Publicity

Connall is a third year History and Politics student and his interests include the politics of the US and also of Scotland/the UK. He is originally from Inverness and his favourite place to go in Edinburgh has to be Yo Sushi! Connall will be in charge of EPU's communications, monitoring and publishing on the social media platforms.

Henry Stockton

Director of Outreach

Henry is a Year 4 International Relations student from the USA. He will be the Director of Outreach this year, organising careers events and assisting with the academic programme. His main academic interests lie in studying the political economy.



Quinn Farr

Director of Health

Quinn is in Year 2 studying Law and International Relations. She is especially interested in Tech Law and US politics. She is from Geneva, Switzerland and her favourite coffee place in Edinburgh is Brew Lab!




Anjale Gnanasampanthan

Diversity and Inclusivity officer

Anjale is in second year studying Politics. She is academically interested in race, colonialism and US politics. She is from London and her favourite place to eat in Edinburgh is Nile Valley.
